Good to know
  • The climb through the Montes de León takes you past Foncebadón, at 1,439 m on the Junta de Castilla y León's figures, to the Cruz de Ferro.
  • O Cebreiro, where the Way enters Galicia, is at about 1,300 m. The Xunta measures 22.2 km on to Triacastela and rates it medium-high, with steep ups and downs.
  • From Triacastela you can choose between two routes to Sarria: by San Xil (17.9 km, mostly downhill through woodland) or by the monastery of Samos (25.1 km).
